McKenzie grew up in Western Washington and attended Washington State University for both her undergraduate and graduate career. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. McKenzie has worked in acute care, assisted living long-term care, family practice, and community health settings over the course of her nursing career.
While McKenzie was completing her undergraduate education she had the opportunity to provide healthcare to rural impoverished communities in Peru. After spending time abroad, McKenzie knew she wanted to continue on with a graduate degree in order to ultimately practice as a provider and serve patients in the family practice setting.
She is married to a firefighter and has two pets. In her spare time, she volunteers at Union Gospel Mission medical clinics and enjoys camping, crafting, yoga, being outdoors, and spending time with family. She played competitive sports all throughout her youth and still enjoys participating in recreational sports today.
